Updated for Xmas, but note that the weekly spreadsheet has not been updated.

14-Sep-09
The two remaining non-paying managers have been deleted from the database: Phil Appleby and Andy Floyer.

07-Sep-09
The CC-FF Cup Stage One draw has been made and matches start immediately, with the following non-paying managers omitted: Phil Appleby, Les Hutchinson and Andy Floyer.

01-Sep-09
The provisional CC-FF Cup format has been added under the "CC-FF Cup >>>" menu option. The exact format and match dates will be dependent on how many of the six non-payers pay this week. The competition will start on week commencing 7th September as there is a lot to squeeze in.

27-Aug-09
The Rules section has been replaced with an FAQ, which still covers everything in the rules but is easier for me to expand on.

03-Aug-09
Okay, I'm back. I wasn't going to run a competition this year but, as no-one else appears to want to do it....
I haven't had time to publicise this other than a mailshot to previous participants, so I don't know how many entries we'll get, but it's still better than none.

18-Dec-08
To simplify the xmas period, the next transfer window now starts on 5th January 2009.

17-Nov-08
The first group stage of the CC-FF Cup is now completed. Under the "CC-FF Cup >>>" menu option you can see the second group stage draw and fixtures, which start immediately.

15-Sep-08
Managers with unpaid entry fees have now all be deleted. These are:- Col Forshaw, Matt Lansdown, Andrew Stillwell, Martyn Richards, Trevor Savory, Emma Haines, Aaron Galbraith, Joe Irvine, Bob Marshall and David Owen.
The first group stage of the CC-FF Cup has now been drawn. Under the "CC-FF Cup >>>" menu option can be found details of the format, the group tables and the group fixtures.
I was planning on introducing a prize for each group winner in the two group stages of the CC-FF Cup. However, I have changed my mind on this, as it makes it more difficult to achieve the 50% charity donation at the end of the season.

08-Sep-08
Managers with unpaid entry fees have been suspended. They will be removed next weekend before the CC-FF Cup is drawn out, unless payment is received this week.
The format for the CC-FF Cup has been decided and can be found under the Contents menu on the far left.
The Competition will start on 22nd September.

01-Sep-08
The weekly newsletter has not yet been sent out to all subscribers to the mailing list due to technical difficulties. I am awaiting a response from Topica as to the nature of the problem.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

18-Aug-08
All entrants SHOULD have received a confirmation email giving payment details from me. However, as the BAE SYSTEMS firewall doesn't take kindly to 'excessive' external emails and my ISP thinks my s/w is spamming unless I wind down the frequency of my emails, it's possible that you haven't received yours. If you haven't yet received this email from me, please email me and I'll get it resent.

The first weekly update will be either this evening or tomorrow morning, depending on how many new players need adding to the database. Everyone will get the weekly newsletter for this first week, but thereafter it will only be those on the mailing list.

26-Jul-08
The Player List has been re-issued with a correction as Fabianksi was incorrectly assigned to Aston Villa instead of Arsenal.

25-Jul-08
The Player List for the 2008/09 season is now available and will not change until after the season has started.
Entries must be in by Friday 15th August 2008 as the season starts on Saturday 16th

14-Jul-08
The Player List for the 2008/09 season will be available on 25th July 2008 and will not change until after the season has started.
Entries must be in by Friday 15th August 2008 as the season starts on Saturday 16th

19-May-08
Well, we've reach the end of yet another CC-FF season.
Congratulations to Gavin Cherrett for sneaking a single point win in the closest race we've ever had.
Thanks to all who have participated and made the competition worthwhile, and a special thank you to that used the transfer spreadsheet to make transfers and to those that paid for transfers in advance, making the entering of transfers into the database and the collection of transfer fees much easier. Those with prize money and with funds left over have been contacted separately.
The charity donation this season has been by far the best yet and currently stands at a whopping £643.50, but may yet increase. In the six years of the CC-FF, we have now raised nearly of £1800 for Charity Challenge, no mean feat.

14-Apr-08
Congratulations to Melanie Plumb, Graham Brittain, Mike Mercer and Max Edgell, who have reached the Semi-Finals of the CC-FF Cup and are guaranteed to win prize money.

12-May-08
Congratulations to Mike Mercer who won the CC-FF Cup Final with a crushing 65-26 win over Graham Brittain.

09-Apr-08
I made an error in omitting the assist for the Liverpool goal, which should have gone to Yossi Benayoun. This correction has now been reflected on a revised upload of the website.
Well spotted, Chris Hayton.
I'm not infallible and, if I can, I will correct mistakes made, as indicated in Rule 11.3. However, if changing it affects something else, like an MOM already allocated, or the result of a completed Cup match, then the error will have to stand.

31-Mar-08
Congratulations to Jason Knight, the Manager of the Month for March, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->General->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

27-Mar-08
Some of you will be aware of the continuing problems with email confirmations to your team changes. If it's not the BAE SYSTEMS servers rejecting incoming emails from me because I send too many in a short space of time (therefore I must be spam), it's my NTLWORLD server thinking my PC has been hijacked and rejecting my outgoing emails.
So, I'm trialling a few work-arounds. One is at my end and will be invisible to you, where I delay my email confirmations and send them out at two-minute intervals, the second is to introduce a change log. In this log are datestamps for the last changes I have recorded (and confirmed) for each manager. I plan to upload this file to the web every time I handle updates which, in theory, acts as an indicator to managers that their changes have been noted.
Over the top? Probably?

25-Feb-08
Congratulations to Brian Robertson, the Manager of the Month for February, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->General->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

18-Feb-08
The second group stage of the CC-FF KO is now completed. Under the CC-FF KO menu, you will find the final group tables, the 3rd-placed qualifier table (as per the qualification rules), along with details of the fixtures for the knockout stage, which begins on 3rd March 2008.

11-Feb-08
I made an error in entering the scorer-assist for the Man Utd goal. It should have read goal by Carrick assist by Scholes. This correction has now been reflected on a revised upload of the website.
Well spotted, Nathan Sanders.

28-Jan-08
Congratulations to Kevin Steel, the Manager of the Month for January, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->General->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

04-Jan-08
Transfer overpayments have been removed from the calculations for donation and prize money, as it is wrong to assume they will be incorporated at the end of the season. Overpaying managers may well request their overpayments to be refunded.
The Monthly Boundaries page and the MOM page have been combined under the Managers menu.
Also, payout details have been added to the MOW page under the Managers menu. You'll see that there are no payouts this season, but this will be introduced next season, probably in the region of £2 per week.

31-Dec-07
Congratulations to Jane Hulmes, the Manager of the Month for December, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

10-Dec-07
The first group stage of the CC-FF KO is now completed. Under the CC-FF KO menu, you will find the final group tables, the 7th-placed qualifier table (as per the qualification rules), along with details of the group tables and the group fixtures for the second group stage, which begins immediately.

27-Nov-07
Congratulations to Mike Mercer, the Manager of the Month for November, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

29-Oct-07
Congratulations to Lee Mallett, the Manager of the Month for October, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

09-Oct-07
An error made in entering the Blackburn v Birmingham game from the weekend (I somehow managed to save it as 3-2) has meant that all pages have been regenerated again today.

01-Oct-07
Congratulations to David Muldoon, the Manager of the Month for September, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

17-Sep-07
As mentioned last week, all eleven managers that did not pay their entry fees have been removed from the competition and the prize money and charity donation adjusted accordingly. The most disappointing thing about this is that some had even told me that they had paid. Quite why anyone thinks that was amusing is beyond me. What IS amusing is that one of them would have been top at the moment.
From the point of view of the remaining managers, the only thing you will notice is that a few players who were not available can now be bought during the transfer window. They are:- Ledley King, Lee Bowyer, Javier Mascherano, Christian Dailly, Paul Huntington, Brad Friedel and Calum Davenport.

The CC-FF KO draw has now been made. Under the "CC-FF KO >>>" menu option can be found details of the format, the group tables and the group fixtures.
The following eleven managers have not paid their entry fees:- Mark Godson, Gary Taylor, Nigel Hopkins, Craig Young, Richard Wharton-Smith (x3), Dave King, Alan Baxter, Mukul Ahmed and Simon Long.
They have been suspended and omitted from the KO draw and are identifiable on the League Table as being highlighted in red.
If payment is not received by the end of the week, their entries will be deleted.

30-Aug-07
Something about non-payers. I have set 31st August as the deadline for receiving payment, however the way it will actually work is as follows...
The CC-FF KO starts on w/e September 16th, the draw being done on w/e September 9th and starting the following day.
Any entries remaining unpaid by September 9th will be suspended and omitted from the CC-FF KO draw.
If they have not paid by the following update for w/e 16th September, their entry will be deleted.

27-Aug-07
If you are yet to pay your entry fee, you have until the end of August for me to receive it before I cancel your entry.
Those outstanding will receive an email reminding them of non-payment sometime tomorrow.
There are 46 of you still to pay. I realise some have already informed me that it is on its way and you will receive confirmation from me when it has been received and processed.
31st August is the absolute latest cut-off date for payment. Once I have removed a team from the database it cannot be added back in again.

20-Jul-07
The Player List has now been fixed and emails sent out to all interested parties (plus a few others).
The email gives instructions on how to enter the 07/08 Competition. If you haven't received it, and wish to, email me at work and let me know.

03-Jul-07
Details for the new season will be sent out on July 20th 2007. If you wish to be added to the distribution list you can either email me at work or add yourself to the online mailing (non-work email address only please).

21-May-07
Well, we've reach the end of yet another CC-FF season. Thanks to all who have participated and made the competition worthwhile, and a special thank you for making the collection of entry money and transfer fees less stressful than in previous years.

Congratulations to Dave Simpson who has finally climbed to the top of the tree, after five years of training.
Commiserations to Darrin Antrobus who, having lead for most of the season, finally succumbed to Dave's late surge. Still, not bad for someone who professes to know nothing about proper football, Darrin.
Well done to the missus for getting two teams into the prize money and winning the family prize. Unlucky Martyn, your turn to cope with a year of gloating.

The charity donation this season has been by far the best yet, totalling nearly £500, doubling any other year.
In the five years of the CC-FF, we have now raised in excess of £1100 for Charity Challenge, no mean feat.

The final allocation of prize money is up on the web (and includes adjustments from donations from those with money left over).
Can the winners please email me with their account numbers, so that I can begin to arrange the distribution of prizes.

I need details of Charity Challenge contacts at the following sites:
Chorley, Filton, Farnborough, Samlesbury, Christchurch (I already have this), Rochester, Frimley and Radway Green.

Also, congratulations to Chris Hayton, the Manager of the Month for April, who wins £10.

Finally, if you've enjoyed the game PLEASE TELL OTHERS. Every year the number of entrants goes up and I'm fully aware that there is still a vast untapped resource of potential entrants out there. Remember, they don't have to be company employees to play. Although a CC poster is produced each year to publicise the CC-FF, word-of-mouth is still the best advertising method.

If you can get interested parties to either join the mailing list found on the website (non-BAE/SELEX email addresses only please) or email me and I will make sure they get added to the distribution list when the new season kicks off.

(for next season, the external mailing list will only be open to non-BAE/SELEX email addresses, as there were just far too many problems with our over-zealous firewall. The company addressees will just get their emails from my work address instead to circumvent the problem)

Anyway, thanks again for playing, and roll on next season.

26-Mar-07
Congratulations to Dave Simpson, the Manager of the Month for March, who wins £10.
The final transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.
The mailing list problems persist. It is quite likely that the BAE SYSTEMS firewall will block most of these emails, as it considers too many incoming emails from one domain in such a short space of time as spam.
I suspect that I can't get around this, but this will have to suffice for this season.

01-Mar-07
Due to my holiday, there will be no replies to emailed team changes this week.
Please continue to make your changes as usual. Normal service will be resumed next week.

26-Feb-07
Congratulations to Tina Gooch, the Manager of the Month for February, who wins £10.
The penultimate transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.
The Second Stage of the CC-FF Knockout has now been completed and the Last 32 Knockout Stage drawn (linked here) as per the instructions (linked here).
The mailing list problems persist. Apologies for all this. I'll continue to try and get it sorted out in the hope it might work properly next season.

12-Feb-07
Mailing list subscription is still proving to be a pain. I have forced some re-confirmation emails again today in the hope that the list of subscribers can be built up. In addition, I have started to try getting subscriptions started to an alternative mailing list at topica.com. If neither of these work, I'm going to go and sit in a corner and sulk.

06-Feb-07
Some people may be experiencing problems subscribing to the CC-FF Mailing List. I haven't quite pinned down why this is happening yet, but will continue to pursue all managers until they have either subscribed, or told me that they don't wish to. If you are yet to receive the confirmation email, I will continue to send out emails to you directly. It would be nice if I can get this all working BEFORE the end of the season :-).

29-Jan-07
Congratulations to Darrin Antrobus, the Manager of the Month for January, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.
As per the email I sent out earlier today, future emails to the CC-FF managers will be handled through a subscribable mailing list service. Managers can add themselves to this list using the "Join our Mailing List" option at the foot of the Contents list on the left-hand side of the screen.

15-Jan-07
Thank you all for your patience, I am hoping that everything is now working again properly.
You should get an email from my work account tomorrow to this effect (it is easier to send it from work as I can send one mail out to everyone, from home I have to send it to groups of about ten managers at any one time).

08-Jan-07
Please be advised that I am still having difficulties accessing my email.
Until further notice, please DUPLICATE all emailed team changes and transfers to my work email address as indicate in the mailing of 3rd January 2007.

31-Dec-06
Congratulations to Dave Simpson, the Manager of the Month for December, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

18-Dec-06
The First Cup Stage is now complete and the second round drawn as per the format. Both the format and the latest draw can be found under the "CC-FF KO" menu, as well as the calcualtions for the 8th placed qualifiers.

27-Nov-06
Congratulations to Ron Kendall, the Manager of the Month for November, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

30-Oct-06
Apologies to those that received the monthly email more than once - and those that didn't receive it at all. My email started playing up, but seems to be working again now.

30-Oct-06
Congratulations to Kevin Steel, the Manager of the Month for October, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

09-Oct-06
After virtually a blank week, we are off again with the second round of Cup games.
The suspended players will all be deleted this week, apart from Alison Brown who has been reactivated.

25-Sep-06
Congratulations to Mick Hunter, the Manager of the Month for September, who wins £10.
The transfer window is now open again until 5pm on Thursday, with the handy spreadsheet (Contents->Transfer XLS) updated with the new list of available players.

19-Sep-06
This spreadsheet is one I produce for those without internet access. I haven't linked it into the contents page as yet, but if anyone thinks it is useful, let me know and I'll upload it every week along with the rest of the updates to the website.

18-Sep-06
The CC-FF Knockout has now been drawn and will start next week.
After numerous warnings, all unpaid entrants (Mark Blackmore, Alison Brown, Daniel Brown, Stuart Carr, Tim Garland and Chris Ramsker) have been suspended and omitted from the Knockout. Payment by Friday will enable them to be reactivated, otherwise they will be deleted next week before the transfer window opens on the 25th September.

21-Aug-06
As we have broken the 100-entry barrier, rule 7.8 will come into effect.
Basically this means that players will be available within a transfer window if they have LESS THAN FIVE MANAGERS. The easiest way to recognise who is available is to see who is marked as available on the player lists that will appear, or use the transfer spreadsheet each month which will only contain available players. This spreadsheet is very similar in style to the entry spreadsheet most of you used.

21-Aug-06
I've been asked when the online data will be updated:
As a general rule this will be on a Monday evening. Although I enter most of the information over the weekend, I have to wait until Monday morning to confirm the assists. Consequently the update has to wait until I get home on Monday evening. This first week, it may be a day or two later, depending on how long it takes for people to get one or two errors in entries corrected

18-Aug-06
Due to the server outage at Christchurch today, I failed to forward the final few entries home for processing. Rest assured they have been captured and will be entered, but this will have to wait until I am back in work on Monday.
This affects entries from:- Harry and Charlie Boughton, Barbara Charnock, Daniel Brown, Ed Totten, Emma Haines, Dave TBA, Henry White, Paul Lynch, Robert Evans, Jonathan Jones, Jon Coman, Richard Backhouse, Tony Craig and Stephen Charlton
If by any chance the above entrants see this before Monday, it will speed things up a bit if you can re-send your entry to my home email.
Thanks, and much apologies.

10-Jul-06
The Player List will be available on 21st July 2006
